Which gift cards work?
Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover gift cards, the kind that can be spent anywhere. Store cards like a coffee shop or a department store card are not supported.
How does Dona know what is left on the card?
It does not, until it tries. You tell Dona roughly what you think is left, Dona charges the card for that, and if the card holds less Dona works down to the real figure and tells you what it found.
What does it cost?
Adding a card is free. Moving money to your bank costs $1.00 plus Stripe fees under $100.00 and $2.50 plus Stripe fees at $100.00 and over. Paying $499.00 once removes both for ten years.
Is there a minimum or a maximum?
$4.00 is the minimum transfer to your bank, waived for lifetime pass holders. Your wallet holds $500.00 at most, so move money out before adding a card that would push it past that.
Does Dona see my card number?
No. Card details are entered in a secure field hosted by Stripe and never reach Dona. Dona keeps the brand, the last four digits, and the expiry date, nothing else.
What if I forget about my wallet?
After 90 days above the minimum, Dona emails you and prompts a transfer in the app. Your money stays in your wallet until you move it.
