Which gift cards work?

The kind you can spend anywhere: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover. A card that only works at one shop stays at that shop, so those are out.

What if I don’t know how much is left?

Almost nobody does. Tell Dona what the card was worth when you got it and Dona works out what is actually left, then tells you the exact figure. Your card issuer may see a few declined attempts along the way, which is normal and costs you nothing.

What does it cost?

Adding a card is free. You pay when money leaves your wallet: $1.00 under $100.00 and $2.50 above it. Pay $499.00 once and that goes away for ten years.

Is there a minimum?

You need $4.00 in your wallet before you can send it to the bank, so thin cards are worth pooling. The wallet holds $500.00 at a time.

Does Dona see my card number?

No. You type it into a secure field run by Stripe and it never reaches Dona. All Dona keeps is the brand and the last four digits.

What if I forget about it?

Dona emails you after 90 days and nudges you to move it. The money is yours either way and it does not expire.
